Partnerships
Effective: 2026
For: publishers, rights holders, educators, festivals, technology firms and other organisations who want a structured relationship with Book Writting Ltd — not a one-click advert
Book Writting Ltd (“Book Writting”, “we”, “us”, “our”) is a United Kingdom book business: an ebook catalogue, author services, Book Clubs, and a route to market for writers. This Partnerships page explains how we work with other organisations. It is not a public offer to form a company, a franchise, or an employment contract. A partnership in the everyday publishing sense starts only when both sides have signed (or clearly accepted) a specific deal.
Casual promotion of a single title belongs on Advertise or Affiliates. Custom writing, editing, covers and production belong on Services.
1. Who we partner with
We consider approaches from:
- Publishers and imprints — list selection, co-editions, or a curated shelf on bookwritting.com;
- Literary agencies and rights teams — digital distribution or service packages for a client list;
- Audio, translation and production houses — capacity we can offer authors as a named subcontractor under our service terms;
- Festivals, bookshops, libraries and reading charities — events, Book Clubs takeovers, or discounted access that still respects our adult-title rules;
- Education and training providers — courses that sit beside our own, without pretending to be a university;
- Technology and payments firms — tools that help us sell or deliver books, under a data-processing or insertion agreement;
- Media and newsletters — honest coverage or sponsored takeovers labelled as such under our Adverts Policy.
We do not sell the company brand to adult-webcam, weapons, or “get rich writing in 24 hours” schemes. We do not appoint exclusive worldwide agents by a cold email.
2. What a Book Writting partnership is
In this house, a partnership is a written commercial arrangement with a named counterparty, a purpose, a term, and a way to end it. Typical shapes:
- Distribution or listing — your titles (or a defined list) appear in our catalogue on terms we agree, including who sets the consumer price and who hosts the file;
- Services introduction — you refer authors to our editorial or production desk, or we refer overflow work to you, with a referral fee if we have agreed one;
- Co-marketing — a joint newsletter, festival stand, or Book Clubs season, with spend and brand use written down;
- Technology — you process data for us, or we integrate your tool, under UK GDPR roles we name in the contract;
- Sponsorship of the platform — a larger, longer placement than a two-week advert, still labelled as advertising.
Until that document exists, conversations, pitch decks and “we’d love to collaborate” messages are not exclusive, not confidential unless we sign an NDA, and not a licence to use our logo.
3. What we will not imply
A partnership does not, by itself:
- make you an author, affiliate or employee;
- give you admin access to reader accounts, Adult books, or unpaid manuscript files;
- let you speak as Book Writting Ltd in the press;
- transfer copyright in a book we or an author already control;
- obliged us to feature your title above unpaid catalogue books without a paid or contracted slot.
Authors remain able to apply for an author account on their own. We will not lock a writer out of their reader login because a third party “represents” them, unless a court or a signed rights grant requires it.
4. Brand, lists and files
The Book Writting name, site and logo are ours. Partners may use them only as the contract allows — usually a lock-up we supply, unaltered, next to a factual sentence about the relationship.
Reader lists, affiliate codes, and download logs stay with us. If a partnership needs a shared audience, we prefer each side to mail its own list with an agreed script, rather than pooling personal data. Any transfer of personal data is a documented processing or joint-controller arrangement, not a spreadsheet on WhatsApp. See our Data Protection Policy.
Unpublished manuscripts we hold for an author are not a partnership asset. We will not open a slush pile to a “content partner” as a sample pack.
5. Money
Revenue shares, retainers, minimum guarantees and marketing spend are deal-specific. We invoice in the currency we agree. Digital delivery, refunds and chargebacks follow our Refunds & Returns Policy unless the partnership contract sets a different wholesale rule for that list.
We do not pay a partnership fee for a meeting. We do not accept “exposure” as consideration for exclusive rights in a book we would otherwise sell.
6. Standards
Partner content that appears on our site must meet the Adverts Policy where it is advertising, and our User Agreement where it is community content. Adult sexual titles stay off the public catalogue. We may end a partnership for unlawful content, rights claims we cannot clear, or reputational harm we consider serious — always as the contract allows, and immediately where the law requires us to take something down.
7. How to start a conversation
Write to hello@bookwritting.com or use Contact with the subject “Partnership”, and include:
- your organisation, country, and Companies House (or equivalent) number if you have one;
- whether you want listing, services, co-marketing, technology or sponsorship;
- the list, territory and formats you have the right to offer;
- a single page on what you want in the first twelve months — not a fifty-page deck as the first move.
We read serious notes. We do not undertake to answer every cold pitch, and silence is not acceptance.
Individuals who want to sell through a link should use Affiliates. Individuals who want to publish their own book should apply from My content after signing in, or start at Services.
8. Governing law
Unless a signed agreement says otherwise, discussions on this page are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction. Book Writting Ltd, company number 15254267, 37 McDougall Road, Wednesbury, England, WS10 0TH.
